An Amplitude alternative when you do not need to know who

Amplitude ties every event to a device ID and your user ID, and can record city and IP address unless you turn those off. Respectlytics stores none of that and still shows where users convert and where they give up.

Why teams move off Amplitude

Amplitude is a full product analytics suite. Many mobile apps use a small part of it and carry all of its data.

  • Two IDs on every event. A device ID identifies the install and your user ID identifies the person, so events connect across sessions, devices and months.
  • Device and location fields. The SDK can record details such as city and IP address, and you turn individual fields off in its tracking options.
  • User properties grow. Every property you set on a user becomes data you have to declare, protect and delete on request.

What you see in Respectlytics

All of it comes from the five stored fields. Nothing about who the user is.

Conversion paths

The most common sequences of events in sessions that converted, found for you once you name your conversion events.

Drop-offs

The steps where sessions end, ranked by how many sessions each one loses.

Funnels

Any sequence of events you choose, with the conversion and the time taken at each step.

Conversion drivers

The events that sessions which converted did more often than the rest, with the size of the difference.

Segments

Conversion compared by platform, country, session depth and hour of day.

When Amplitude is the better choice

Stay with it if you use the parts that need to know who users are.

  • Behavioral cohorts of people, and retention curves per cohort.
  • Experiments, session replay or audiences you send to other tools.
  • One analytics workspace for web and mobile with shared user identity.
  • Governance features for a large data team.

Switching, step by step

Event names carry over. Identities and properties do not.

Before: Amplitude
amplitude.setUserId(userId: user.id)
amplitude.track(
    eventType: "Checkout Completed",
    eventProperties: ["total": 42.0]
)
After: Respectlytics
Respectlytics.track("checkout_completed")
  1. Install the Respectlytics SDK for Swift, Kotlin, Flutter or React Native, and configure it once at launch.
  2. Replace each track() call and drop the event properties.
  3. Delete setUserId(), identify() and user property calls.
  4. Remove the Amplitude SDK and update your privacy label and Data Safety form to match what your app now collects.

Questions buyers ask

Straight answers, including the ones that might send you elsewhere.

What replaces Amplitude cohorts?

Segments. Respectlytics compares conversion by platform, country, session depth and hour of day. It does not build cohorts of people, because it does not know who anyone is.

Does Respectlytics collect IDFV or a device ID?

No. The SDKs read no device identifier of any kind. The only ID is a random session ID that lives in memory and is replaced every two hours and on each launch.

Can I keep Amplitude Experiment?

Yes, if it works on its own in your setup. Respectlytics replaces analytics only; it does not run experiments.
