Switching mobile analytics tools?
Respectlytics is for teams that want product answers without tracking people. Here is how it compares with the tools most apps use today, including where they are the better choice.

The comparisons
Each page shows what the other tool stores about your users, what Respectlytics stores instead, and when you should stay where you are.
Who switches, and who should not
Respectlytics answers questions about sessions and steps. Some teams need answers about people.
A good fit if you want to
- see where users drop off and which paths lead to a purchase
- keep advertising IDs and the ATT prompt out of your analytics
- declare a short list in your App Store and Google Play privacy forms
- read the code that runs in your app, or host the server yourself
Not a fit if you need
- one person's journey across days, or retention cohorts of people
- properties on events, such as price, plan or screen size
- install attribution or ad campaign measurement
- session replay, feature flags or experiments
Attribution and data platforms
AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch, Kochava, Singular, Segment and mParticle do jobs Respectlytics does not do.
Attribution tools tell you which campaign brought an install. Customer data platforms route your events to other tools. Respectlytics does neither, because both depend on identifying users or devices.
Some apps carry an attribution SDK only to count what happens inside the app. If that is your case, Respectlytics can take over the counting, and you can decide whether you still need attribution at all.
Other analytics SDKs
Flurry, Countly, Matomo, GameAnalytics and the rest.
The switch looks the same from any tool: install the SDK, configure it at launch, replace your tracking calls with one line each, and run both side by side until you trust the numbers.
If you self-host Countly or Matomo to keep data on your own servers, the Respectlytics Community Edition does that too. It needs Docker and PostgreSQL. See the open source edition.
Questions buyers ask
Straight answers, including the ones that might send you elsewhere.
Can I run Respectlytics next to my current analytics?
Yes. The SDKs do not depend on any other analytics library, so you can ship both, compare the numbers for a few weeks and then remove the old one.
Can I import my history from another tool?
No. Respectlytics starts counting on the day you install it. Data exported from other tools carries user and device identifiers, which the Respectlytics API does not accept.
How much work is a switch?
The install is a few lines per platform. Most of the work is deciding which 10 to 20 events answer your questions and giving them clear names.
