A Mixpanel alternative for apps that do not need user profiles
Mixpanel is built around people: a device ID stored on the phone, identify() to merge it with your user ID, and a profile for each person. If your questions are where users drop off and what leads to a purchase, Respectlytics answers them without knowing who anyone is.
14-day free trial, no credit card. The demo runs on sample data, no signup.
Why teams move off Mixpanel
Mixpanel is excellent at analysing people. Some apps would rather not have people to analyse.
- Identity is the core. The SDK generates a device ID and keeps it on the phone. When you call identify(), Mixpanel merges it with your user ID, so every event from that person lines up across devices and months.
- Profiles hold whatever you send. Names, emails, plans and any other property you set live on a profile for each person, which makes them part of what you must protect and delete on request.
- Location by default. Mixpanel works out city, region and country from the IP address of each request unless you turn that off.
Mixpanel and Respectlytics, side by side

What you see in Respectlytics
All of it comes from the five stored fields. Nothing about who the user is.
Conversion paths
The most common sequences of events in sessions that converted, found for you once you name your conversion events.
Drop-offs
The steps where sessions end, ranked by how many sessions each one loses.
Funnels
Any sequence of events you choose, with the conversion and the time taken at each step.
Conversion drivers
The events that sessions which converted did more often than the rest, with the size of the difference.
Segments
Conversion compared by platform, country, session depth and hour of day.

When Mixpanel is the better choice
Stay with it if your questions are about people rather than steps.
- You run retention analysis on the same users week after week.
- You use profiles to target messages or to look up one customer's history.
- You rely on session replay or experiments.
- You break reports down by event properties such as plan or price.
Switching, step by step
Keep the track calls. Remove everything that knows who the user is.
mixpanel.identify(distinctId: user.id)
mixpanel.people.set(properties: [
"$email": user.email
])
mixpanel.track(event: "Signed Up",
properties: ["plan": "annual"])
Respectlytics.track("signup_completed_annual")
- Install the Respectlytics SDK for Swift, Kotlin, Flutter or React Native, and configure it once at launch.
- Replace each track() call with Respectlytics.track(). If a property splits an event into cases you care about, fold it into the name.
- Delete identify(), alias(), reset() and every people call. Respectlytics has none of them.
- Remove the Mixpanel SDK and update your privacy label and Data Safety form to match what your app now collects.
Questions buyers ask
Straight answers, including the ones that might send you elsewhere.
What happens to my identify() and people calls?
You remove them. Respectlytics has no identify() method and no profiles. Keep the track() calls you need and rename events to short, clear names.
Can I still measure retention?
You can see how often sessions happen and how deep they go, by day, platform and country. You cannot see whether the same person came back, because no stored field connects one session to the next.
Can I send event properties like plan or price?
No. If a distinction matters, make it part of the event name, such as purchase_annual and purchase_monthly. Never put user details in a name.
