See which features go with conversion

Track the handful of features you care about. Respectlytics compares sessions that used each one with sessions that did not, and shows how deep sessions go and at what hour.

14-day free trial, no credit card. The demo runs on sample data, no signup.

The events

Send each one at the moment on its right. The names are a suggestion; keep whatever pattern you already use.

search_performed A search returns results
content_shared The system share sheet completes
video_completed A video plays to the end
deep_link_opened The app opens from a link
referral_redeemed A referral code is accepted
level_completed A level or lesson is finished
settings_opened A screen you care about opens; name each one

The calls, per platform

One line per event. Configure the SDK once at launch, as each install guide shows.

Respectlytics.track("search_performed")
Respectlytics.track("content_shared")
Respectlytics.track("video_completed")
Respectlytics.track("deep_link_opened")
Respectlytics.track("referral_redeemed")
Respectlytics.track("level_completed")
Respectlytics.track("settings_opened")

The questions these events answer

Choose your conversion events first, such as a purchase or a signup. These are measured against them.

Which features go with converting
Each event's lift: how much more often sessions that used it converted than sessions that did not.
How deep sessions go
Sessions grouped by how many events they contain, and how each group converts.
When people use the app
Sessions and conversion by hour of day, on each platform and in each country.
What links bring
How sessions with deep_link_opened convert compared with the rest.

How to read lift

A strong hint about where to look, not proof of cause.

If sessions with search_performed convert twice as often, search may help people buy, or people who already mean to buy may search more. Use lift to choose what to test next, then compare before and after a change.

Questions buyers ask

Straight answers, including the ones that might send you elsewhere.

Does a feature with high lift cause conversion?

Not necessarily. Lift shows that sessions with the feature converted more often. It is a strong hint about where to look, not proof of cause.

Should screen views be one event or many?

Name the screens that matter, such as settings_opened or search_opened. A single screen_view event with no name cannot tell screens apart, because Respectlytics stores no properties.

The same approach for other parts of your app.
